Kichmond was so knocked about in the Sydney Cup that Mr E. Jellett fears he will never see a starting-post again. There appears to be little doubt that he would have been near winning if it had not been for the vagaries of SK Albana on the Wandering Jew. At the settling on A-J.C meeting L 6675 was paid over in stake?- The principal winners were Mr W. Branch, L 2204 ; Mr A. Ohirnside, L 1149 3i; Hon. J. P. Bell, L 48 1; Mr F. Went worth, L 474 ; Hon. J. White, L 40 3; Mr J. Morrison, L3ol. The yearling colt and filly sent Home by Sir Thomaa Eider from Adelaide have arrived in excellent condition. Tney are placed at Alex. Taylor'*! ( f rainer), at Manton House, Marlborough, Wilt?. Mata and Camballo have been entered for many of the events at the Adelaide races on the 24 ill iust. _ Mr Branch won LSOOO in wagers on Progress in the Sydney Cup, Mr W- A. Long 1,4000* and Mr Jacobs L3OOO. . Barebin will tako part in. the approaching Adelaide meeting At the Sydney Amatenr Turf Club's meeting on the 30oh nit Mr F- Wentworth's grand grand borne Rapid Bay won the Ely Handicap, carrying 93t 81h, aud beating 17 others ; aho the Turf Olub Handicap (9st 6tb), beating tha satna number of starters.
