INTERCOLONIAL. (Reuter's Special.)
Sydney, May 11th. The lessee of the Clontarf Pleasuregrounds, in the Middle Harbour, has brought an action for libel against the proprietors of the Sydney Bulletin, on account of a paragraph which appeared some time ago in that paper. The trial commenced on Thursday, sth inst., and will be continued daily, but it is unlikely that the case -will be concluded this week. The action is attracting great attention, and the Court ha* been crowded daily. Melbourne, May 11th. ( In the Legislative Council to-day the consideration of the Keform Bill in Committee was concluded. Several important amendments were carried, and the bill was read a third time and ordered to be returned to the Assembly. (Per Merchant Shipping and Underwriters' Association.) London, May 10th.— The Orient Co. 'a steamship Ootopaxi, which left Melbourne on March 30th, arrived at Plymouth yesterday. Adelaide, May 11th. The Hon. G. S. Fowler has resigned his position as Colonial Treasurer in the Ministry owing to ill health.
