If he has so much regard for the late teacher he has a strange way of showing it. I hope he will now understand the sentence without, any more explanation lam surprised that he should so tempt people to stir up the muddy waters of the past. Instead of striving to show that I am deficient in common sense and had set him a bad example, &c., he would have been better employed in making good his statements. He seems to have a pretty high opinion of his own ability and good sense. I believe he is able to make what he considers a good story out of very little material.
