The latter also gained the special prize for the best 2'er by an American composer other than the prize 2-mover, and the firstnamed received the special prize for the best 2'er by a foreigner other than the prize 2-mover. There were 35 competitors who contributed 99 positions. The positions were nearly all of a very high order or merit. Canada.— Mr C. S.
