The Age to-day criticises adversely the Governor's remarks regarding the reference in the Address-in-reply to the motion passed on Friday re the vote of no-confidence. July 30th. Mr Berry is still negotiating with Sir John O'Shanassy and Mr Wrixon with a view to the formation of a new Ministry. It is stated to be unlikely that Sir John O'Shanassy will accept office, as the education question hinders an understanding with Mr Berry. Negotiations for the formation of a new Ministry which have taken place between Sir J. O'Shanassy, Mr Berry, and Mr Wrixon, member for Portland, and Sir B. O'Loghlen are now broken, and Mr Berry has summoned a meeting of Liberals for Monday. The demand for sugars continues at further advances. July 31st. Greer, who shot at his wife and the Frenchman Soundry, and afterwards shot himself, at the Opera House on Saturday last, has succumbed to his injuries. Mrs Greer and Soundry are recovering from their wounds. August Ist. Ned Kelly has been sent to Beechworth. August 2nd. The following is a list of the new Ministry submitted to his Excellency the Governor by Mr Graham Berry :— Premier, Mr Berry ; Chief Secretary, Major W. 0. Smith; Minister for Education, Mr J. B. Patterson ; Minister for Railways, Mr W. M. K. Vale ; Treasurer or Attorney- general, Mr B. Richardson ; Minister of Lands, Mr G. D. Langridge ; Minister of Public Works, Mr H. R. Williams ; Minister of Mines, Mr A. T. Clark. The offices of Commissioner of Customs and others are unfilled. A verdict of " Temporary insanity" has been brought in against Greer, who shot his wife and a Frenchman named Sondry, at the Opera-house, through a fit of jealousy. Melbourne, August 3rd.
