CANTERBURY COURSING CLUB.
The running for the Derby Stakes commenced at Malvern on Tuesday. Hares were not very plentiful. The weather was magnificent, and the attendaaco good. The following aro the results : — Mr J P Miles' Champagne Charlie beat Mr EB Hall's Field Marshal, and killed Mr W Cannon's Scafield beat MrC Amyes' Blair Athol Mr T Bassett's Hornby beat Mr It P Hill's Kate, and killed Mr E Coolcson's Beaeonsficld beat Mr W H Porter's Maori, and killed Mr El 3 Hill's Brigade beat Mr W II Lodge's Knickknack Mr B Thomson's Shamrock beat Mr It P Hill's Jasper Mr It Mason's Yaldhurst beat Mr W G Judge's Brcdw anlinc Mr W M'Fadden's Tim Whiftler ran a bye. For the Canterbury Oaka the first couples only wore slipped :— Mr It P Hill's Peeress beating Flying Fish. Christohuroh, May 19th. The coursing was continued to-day. Harea were more plentiful and tbe weather fine, but the attendance was scanty. The first courses of the three stakes were all finished, and the first ties of the Derby and Oaks run off. The dogß left in the Derby are Seafield, Beaoonsfield, Shamrock, and Yaldhurst : and in the Oaks. Bid, Encore, Ma Belle, ana Wheel of Fortune,
