SPECIAL TELEGRAMS.
(fbom oub own corbespondent). Tokomairibo, May 13th; The Courthouse was burned to the ground at 7 this evening, with all the documents and lawbooks, two or three volumes excepted. The clerk left a lamp burning while going to tea. It is supposed to have exploded. Fortunately the wind was blowing away from the township, and the night was wet. There had been no fire in the Courthouse since Tuesday. Some time ago the building was handed over to the Education Board, in exchange for the school buildings in the centre of the town, but that place was not ready for court business.
Tapanui, May 14th. r Noble M'Millan and W. Kelty, of Brooksdale, were elected rabbit trustees to day. The weather is wintry.
