The Mines.
From their last washing, the Blue Mountain Race Company, Tinkers, obtained nearly 1100 ounces of gold. This was ttie result of five months' work.
The find of gold en the flat adjoining Vine«ar Hill, St. Bafchans, is apparently (says the Mount Ida Chronicle) of a genuine character, as a considerable area of ground has beon pegged off, and a number of leases applied for. The prospects obtained, so far as we learn, have been of the most satisfactory character" I£ the richness of the flat iv its auriferous deposits is similar to the pvospacts obtained by the prospectors — and there is hardly any reason to doubt it — a large and rich fiald for mining enterprise will be opeaed in the country.
