PORTOBELLO ROAD BOARD.

The ordinary monthly meeting of the above Board was held on Saturday last. Members present: Messrs W. A. Wilson (chairman), Weipers, M'Kay, Green, Dick, Geary, Boyle?, and the newly-elected member, Mr T. M'Lennan. The minutes of the la3t meeting were read and confirmed. CORRESPONDENCE. A letter was received from Mr G. Harris anking for an extension of time in which to complete hi 3 c>i.t act on tbe County road, below the Dnllshed.— One month extra was granted. Jle Hunter's contract for building a culva-t; on Leith walk, the elt-rk was inr-tructed to inform Mr Himler that unless the contract be completed during tho incoming month, the Board will get thw culveit built ut his expense Messrs M'Kay and Woii.us asked for permission to arrange for extra, v/oik with tho contructor for the job on the Main Sandynnmnt road. — Permission refused. TENDKKS. The following remit r* were arnepted :— For works on Hughes' road, that of Mr T. J'orterfield, for tho sum of Llf> ; for n-oik.-s on CowanV road, Santlymonnt, that of Mr W. Jlunter, fur the sum of L 43 10d ; fri- works on StewartV road aud Lamauh's road (below The Camp), the teiuleri wie declined, Ldng in excels of the e&tiuiated cost. ACCOUNTS. Accounts amounting to L 179 l-i were passed for payment. OUTSTANDING KAi'Erf. The collector was instructed to at once take Bfceps to collect the outstanding rates, amounting to L 220. The Board then adjourned.
