A and B are out; shooting. A fires 5 shots to be 3, but A kills only 1 in 3, while B kills 1 in 2. When B has missed 3G shots, how many birda has A killed ? 30. By Fitzgerald 8., Kuri Bush :
A Taieri farmer owns 1908 animals, which consist of shaep worth 7s 6d each, cows valued at £8 per head, and bullocks worth £9 10s each. The number of sheep owned by him exceeds that of his cows by 65, andgthe cows that of the bullocks by 212. I desire to know the value of his stock, and the number of each kind owned by him ? 31. By Sigma, Shag Valley :—
Tom and Bill had a certain number of apples each. Bill said to Tom, " Hand me over one of yours, and I will have as many as you." But Tom replied to Bill, " Hand me over one of yours, and I will have the double of what you have got. How many apples had each ?
