During tie passage, and while in the S.K trades, Edward Patterson Shaw, one of the apprentices, was lost overboard. He was in the head, and it is supposed tint the vepsel made a dive and washed him off. Every effort was made to save him, but though a life-buoy was thrown within a few feet of him, he w»s unuble to reach it, and sank.
