(Compiled by Our San Franoico Correspondent.) San Franoisoo, December 23rd. BRITISH INDIA. London, December 22nd. In a dispatch from Allahabad, it ia reported that the Ameer (Shere Ali) and family are journeying towards Balkan with the retiring Russian mission. Complete anarchy prevails in the country between Jellalabad and Cabul. The Ameer's flight will probably end the fighting. A dispatch dated Kurum, December 19th, says it is reported that Afghan Wale Mahomed is near Shugard, in the Pass, with eleven regiments of infantry and four of cavalry. From Balkan he will scarcely venture to cross the Pass this season. It is reported that the TyagurKhebs, in Khyber Valley, escapedtp the mountains before the arrival of the British troops. Their towers and dwellings were destroyed. A dispatch from Lucieta says the Governor of Kadavar has determined upon resistance. The Ameer's master of horse— England's greatest enemy— is ill at Jumrood. December 20th. It is again reported the Ameer has fled, leaving his son Yakoob Khan in power. A Paris dispatch says official confirmation has been received that an insurrection has broken out. The Russian mission at Cabul has been withdrawn. A correspondent who is with General Brown reports that the British are only a day's march from Jellalabad. He repeats the story of the Ameer's flight in a more positive form. London, December 21st. The Viceroy of India telegraphs that Major Canaghran confirms the news that the Ameer fled from Cabul to Turkestan. Yakoob Khan was left at Cabul. The Ameer had lost nearly all control, and according to latest news his soldiers were deserting him.
