ARRIVAL OF THE LOWESWATER.
The Loweswater, an iron barque of 603 tons register, and built at Whitehaven, in Cumberland, in 1876, reached the Htads ou January 15th. with a cargo Of castor oil, lea, and sacks, from Calcutta. She was towed up to Deborah Bay by the p.s. Koputai, and is consigned to the National Mortgage and Agency Company. The master roports leaving Calcutta, on Novomber 16th. towing down to Sanger Island, and clewiner the Sand Hoids on the aime night. Light variable winds from N. E. to E. prevailed for two days, and on the 18th it hhjfted to S W.. keoping Hi?ht and variable up to the line, which ehe crossed on December 6th in longitude 02 62 E ; light variable winds, with fine weather, was then experienced, and on December 24th she took the westerlies which were Btronjf, and occasionally merged Into heavy gales The moridian of Cape Leuwin was or sued on December 805h in latitude 41 14 S., and thence strong breez s from the westward were encountered until the passed the Island of Tasmania on January 6' ; moderate westerly winds and fine weather followed? and at 5.80 p.m. on the 12th instant she passed the Snares ; met strong S E winds up the coast, and '. mved off the Heads at 10.12 a.m. on the 16th ; was towed up to the anchorage at 6,30 p.m.
