JAMES NEIL, HERBALIST, Vendor and Importer of Patent Homoeopathic and Botanic Medicines, Trade Chemicals, &0., &c, Wishes to thank those readers of the Witness who have given the Herbal Syßtem a trial. Although it would be folly to expect every one to be satisfied, or to ba cured of a long-standing disease by taking a bottle or two of medicine, yet we can safely say that seven out of ten who have tried our Medicines have been thoroughly satisfied with their Genuineness in Curing and Relieving Diseases. One disadvantage we labour under is, that we seldom get the first of a patient. Those who cons-ilt us almost invariably tell .us— " We have been to so and so or we have this and that and cannob get any benefit, and a friend has recommended you to us." One reason why some people will not try ovit system is on account of the large and bitter doses of medicines we give. Well, those that are so delicate in their taste can be suited, for we have imported from America the active principles of Herbs in such a concentrated state that from one to five grains is a full dose, and then, again, our Pills, for every complaint, can be swallowed without being tasted. Trusting that the unbiassed will give us a fair trial, we bsg to introduce to notice a few of our Vegetable preparations, and truly they are vegetable. We will forfeit the Bum of £100 if any analytical .chemist can discover one grain of mineral in their composition. We have now succeeded in placing our DANDELION COFFEE before the Public, with the best results. Persons with Liver Complaints and Indigestion having tried it, strongly recommend it to their neighbours ; all speak highly of it. It is prepared by ourselves from the true dandelion root grown in the district. In tins at Is 6d and 2s 6d. All who are troubled with their livers and stomachs, try this genuine article. DANDELION PILLS. These are compounded from the best medicines that are known for the stomach, liver, and bowels. We have compounded them in such proportions as not to gripe nor to be violent in their action. The increase in the sale of these Pills will be an evidence of their virtue. We make seven thousand every week, and the sale is increasing. Price, Is per box of 3 dozen ; sent to any post office for Is in stamps. Those in the habit of using Holloway's or Cockles should buy a box o! these. The following list of oar Medicines will be found highly beneficial for the Diseases they are intended to cure : — Blood Purifier, in bottles, 2s 6d j five for 103. This number will usually cure severe cases of Eruptions, Pimples, &c. People Bay it is one of the Best Blood Medicines that they have ever tried. Composition Powder.— This well-known Powder need 3 no commendation. It is now being used in hundreds of homes. Jib tin, Is 6d ; this is 6d cheaper. Stomach Bitters Powder. — One of the most effective remedies for Indigestion ever known. A young man came to consult us for this distressing complaint. He had a prescription from one of the leading doctors. The only ingredient on the prescription was pepsine wine, which he declared did him no good. We gave him a tin of the Bitters, and he came back and told us that three doses put him right, and that he was quite free of it. In tins, Is 6d. Compound Rhubarb Pill (from the recipe of Dr Coffin), containing rhubarb, ginger, aloes, gum, myrrh, and peppermint; Is three dozen boxes. The mildest aperient pill prepared. Bilious akd Aperient Powder.— ln much favour with mothers. It is very much superior to salts or senna, and quite as cheap. 1b a box (16 doses). All who try it speak of it in the highest terms.
