WOOD'S SELF BINDING HARVESTER.
We have received from Messrs Brodrick and Carter, sub-agents for Otago for the Walter Wood improved Self-binding Harvester, a pamphlet setting forth the points of superiority of that machine, and the improvements which will be made in those of next season's manufacture. It is claimed for the machine that it does effectually the hardest part of the labour heretofore done by men, and places the farmer independent of harvest-hands ; he can now crop to any extent he likes, as the ordinary labour he employs all the year round will be able with these machines to harvest thecrop. Next season the machines will have several important improvements ; amongst then— An improved adjustable reel, an improved binderarm, simpler attachment for shifting binder, and placing same in and out of gear. The seat will be loft-hand side of elevator, so that the driver has more power over horses and machine, and reins will no longer get entangled in sprocket wheels. Improved spool stand, will run from spool without adjusting tension. Board under elevator to prevent belt getting clogged in cutting out. Improved take-up.
