MINING AT MACETOWN.

A gentleman just down from Macetown informs us that the Homeward Bound and Maryborough Companies are busily pushing on with tho erection of their new machinery, and hope to be ready for work by the beginning of May. The reefs were looking very well, and the Homeward Bound have struck gold in their upper tunnel. The Tipperary looks exceedingly well, perhaps never better. The All Nations and Gladstone were getting out good gold. The Garibaldi were just coming upon the reef in their new tunnel where it was six inches wide and showed gold freely. The Maryborough were also coming upon very good stone in their tunnel towards the Garibaldi. The Ladye Fayre were engaged sinking so as to cut the reet at 100 feet in depth. At 60 feet, where they first struck the lode, it was irregular in formation. The Premier and Victor Emmanuel were looking very promis ing. Our informant says there can be little doubt but that the Macetown reefß will turn out permanent and profitable mines, but owing to the 'lifficulties to be contended against there has of course been much unavoidable delay, but when once they are properly opened, owing to tho country affording every facility for tunnelling, they will be worked very cheaply. As things have gone the work has been pretty systematically and economically carried out. The law case of Barry and others against Scholes and others, was given against the Captain, with £35 costs.
