FOOTBALL.

The Union Football Club played a scratch match on the Northern Recreation Ground on Saturday afternoon. Owing to the absence of the captain and deputy-captain, sides were chosen by prawshaw and Treseder. The ground was in capital condition, and a most enjoyable game was played, CrawshaVs aide eventually winning by four goals and a touchdown to two goals obtained by the opposite side. For the winning aide, Crawshaw, Chapman, Barber, and "William G-ibb, played splendidly. For the losing side, Beal, Payne, George Gibb, Wynks, and Duder, distinguished themselves. To-day (Saturday), a team is to be sent to Kaitangata to try conclusions with the local clab.
