A CHALLENGE ACCEPTED. TO THE EDITOR.
Sir, — I regret that I did not sooner hear of the challenge of Mr John McFarlaue, Clutha, to plough againßt any man in New Zealand for d 650, and I hope it may not now be too late to take it up. If Mr McFarlane is really anxious to try his skill, I will only be too happy to oblige him on the terms mentioned. Preliminaries can be arranged at onao on his commani. eating with me at Mr Robert Muir's, North Taieri. I am, &c, North Taieri, John Edwards. Aug. 1, 1877. ,
