f' ■ ■ The usual weekly meeting of the Board WBB held on Wednesday. Present — The Chief Commissioner (in the chair), and Messrs Buitertrorth, Strode, Clark, and Green. The minutes of the previous 'meeting were read mid. confirmed. XOBTH MOLYHEUX — APPLICATION FOR A LICEN&B. The, Board received an application from D. Dunn for a license nnder the 161 st section of the Aot for part of road-line opposite section 1. block IV., North Molyneux; also, from the Chairman of the Kaitangata Lake Drainage Committee, recommending that the license be granted, and letter of objections by R. M. Sewell thereto. — Consideration was adjourned for further information on the subject from the Ranger.

BUJf 28. — APPLICATION TO PURCHASE.

Christian Hille applied to pnrchase 77 acres on Bun No. 28, Kurow district, opposite his accommodation house, runholder'o consent to the purchase having been obtained. — Approved.

OTAKIA ROAD BOARD.

The Sea-side Koad Board of Otakia applied to purchase 20 poles of land, more or less, being the north-west corner of the Coastguard reserve, section 47, block 1., Otakia District, with the view of effecting an exchange with the proprietor of part of section 2of 7, same block, in order to deviate the present road-line ; also, that a road-line, one chain wide, be recorded on the said reserve, along its western boundary, to connect the present road with the sea-Bide road.—Referred to the Chief Commissioner to obtain a report on the matter through the Chief Surveyor.

FORTROSE.

Mr George T. Attwood asked permission to purchase a portion of the township of Fortrose, or to be allowed to build, subject to valuation for improvements. — The town■hip section! are to be offered at the first convenient sale.

fIWINEBURN.

Joseph Preston applied to purchase section 6, block V., Swineburn district, and the sheepwash adjoining.— The request was refused, the section in question being a deferred payment one.

BWITZBEB. * The District Lund Officer of Switzers

transmitted an application received from Mr J. L. Turnbull to purchase the southern portion (70 acres) of section 9, block IV., Waikaia district, to brmg up his area to 200 acres. — Consideration was deferred.

LAKE COUNTY COUNCIL.

A letter was received from the Clerk of the Lake County Council, suggesting certain con* ditioQß to be inserted in the license of Mr S. Ludeman for a jetty area at Shotover district ; also, letter from the District Land Officer on the subject. — Letter was read ; writer to be informed of Mr Ludeman having agreed to allow a road through his ground.

The District Land Officer of Switzers reported on a petition from the residents at Waikaka, requesting that lands on Run 175b be not dealt with until an inspection is made by tbe Warden. — The recommendation of the Warden as to sections to be reserved to be adopted.

Mr Robert Cotton offered to lease section 24, block IV., Waipori district, for Beyen years, at 4s an acre per annum, and subject to the some conditions as those specified on lease already granted in that district to Mr Wright. — Approved, the oection in question being deemed to possess special value from improvements.

COAL LEASE.

A letter was received from C. Colclough, transmitting arrears of rent on coal lease of Mr Nicholas, of block XVI., Cromwell township, requesting that the said lease may be cancelled, and a fresh one issued in the name of E. M'Nulty, for the laud in question ; also remarks by the District Land Officer of Clyde thereon. — The papers are to be re ferred to Mr Haggitt for his opinion, with a view of carrying out the Warden's suggestion.

TABLE HILL.

Joseph, Goodwin applied to purchase sections 9 and 92, block 11., Table Hill, under deferred payments. — Approved.

AGRICULTURAL LEASES.

The following certificates of applications for agricultural leases were approved of :—: — Mount Ida Pastoral Investment Company, section 1, block VI., Maniototo ; H. S. and E. A. Chapman, section 2, Gimmerburn ; Stewart M'Comb, section 37, block XViIL, Tnapeka East; John White, section 49, block 1., Tiger Hill ; H. W. Robinson, sec tion 8, block VII. , Maniototo.

The following applications to purchase under an agricultural lease were approved of : — Rowland Pritchard, sections 34, 61, and 65, block VIII., Shotover ; John Blair, section 38, block 1., Waitahuna West.

The following applications to exchange agricultural for deferred payment leases were brought before the Board :—: —

Wilhelm Labes, section 66, block IV., Tuapeka East. — Approved. John Hughes, sections 64, 63, and 70, block 1., Waitahuna West. — Declined.

John Peter Chalmers (as heir of R. Chalmers), sections 31 and 62, block 11., Table HilL— Declined.

James Bremner Chalmers, sections 29 and 30, block 11., Table HilL— Declined.

APPLICATION" FOR EXTENSION OF LEASE.

Mr George Pogson, on behalf of Messrs W. Gellibrand and Co., requested that the lease of Run No. 20 be extended for Bix months from the 2nd day of January next. — Request agreed to — to be carried out as may be advised by Mr Haggitt.

GLBNKENICH DISTRICT.

Mr W. Graham applied to be allowed to surrender section 15, block X., Glenkenich district, and to have his deposit credited to another area to be applied in Otama district. — Applicant to be allowed to surrender the section, but not refunded the deposit of same. ■
