MONTHLY INSPECTION. The City Guards, with their Cadets, were inspected at the Head-quarters Drill Shed on Monday last by the Acting-Adjutant, Lieut. Grant. There were present— Captain Wales, 1 lieutenant, 4 sergeants, and 22 rank and file Of the Cadets the;e were present-^Captain Wilson, 2 lieutenants, 2 sergeants, and 16 rank and file. High School Artillery, February 21st— 1 captain, 1 lieutenant, 1 sergeant, 29 gunners ; total, 32. High School Rifles, .February 21st.-— 1 captain, 1 lieutenant, 2 sergeants, 35 rank and file ; total, 39 Naval Cadets, February 22nd.— 1 captain, l lieutenant, 3 petty officers, 30 gunners ; total 35 District Schools Rifles, February 27th.— 1 captain 1 lieutenant, 3 sergeants, 62 rank and file ; total, 67. ' On the arms of the above companies I can only report as I did on a former occasion— that they are not only unserviceable but dangerous, and the aooner they are called m and others substituted, the better In the meantime, I don't think the boys should be allowed to fire with them.— l have, &c., Allan King, Lieutenant South District Rifles, Acting-Adjutant for the month of February.
