A large fire at Young last night destroyed five houses. The Commercial Bank's building was also much injured. March 14th. The schooner Spinkie, from Maryborough, reports speaking off the Northern Coast the barque Sydney, from Hong Kong to Ofcago. She had 10 cases of small-pox on board. An attempt will be made to-night to refuse supplies, on the ground that the Government have not the confidence of the Assembly. Melbourne, March 13fcb. The Albion has left for the Bluff. March 14th. The Executive have decided to allow the law to take its course in the case of Bastings for the Frankton murder. Gaixe, February 11. The Bangalore left to-day for Australia. | !

[BY SUBMARINE CABLE.] (REUTERS SPECIAL TELEGRAMS.) London, March 7th. The Porte objects to the demand of Montegro for a cession of territory and a sea port. Russia, still expectant, pending an answer to the circular, has issued a ukase ordering the organisation of nine army corps. The Porte maintains the same confident attitude it assumed when the Conference was sitting, and is prepared to accept war in preference to a prolonged suspense. On the other hand, Russia objects to the suggestion of a year's grace. Russia withdraws from the Treaty of 1856 unless other Powera co-operate to obtain the acceptance by the Porte of the original programme of the Conference. In the Turkish Budget the estimate of expenditure for the present year of the Army is set down at fourteen and a half millions ; of the Navy, at ten and threequarter millions. Hayes has nominated W. Maxwell E warts Secretary of fctate, and Sherman Secretary of Treasury. March 9th. Wool weaker, and prices irregular. Five thousand bales without, Wheat is easier.
