Tlie gloamin' sweet was creeptn'on, And day aa' night were meetin', i When granny, sittin' in her chair, Heard words o' quiet greetin', ' ' She laid her knitten down awhile, An' frae her cosy corner Cried oot in tones o' anxious love Tae still the youthfu' mourner.
