TO RENOVATE LAND.

The best means of renovating worn-out lands is to raise green crops, feed them on the grounds to your animals, and turn the residuum under. For instance, sow a crop of peas, and aa soon as they are ripe (or even before, if necessary) turn on hogs, sheep, or cattle, or such stock as you may want to fatten. After they have eaten all. they will, turn under the. residuum, and sow a crop of small grain. When this is ripe, feed off again^ turn under the straw left, and then another crop of peas — and so on for a few years, and you will find your land rich, and if you-- have judiciously handled your atockj you will find that you have made money on that. Sorghum is a fine thing io sow broadcast to make a crop to turn under, or red clover, if it will grow, but nothing equal to peas.
