TAIERI ANNUAL RACES.
The following are the weights for the Handicaps: — HANDICAP HUBDIiB RACE.
Mr Scott has scratched his mare Flying Beauty for the Taieri Handicap, considering that the weight adjudged to her is excessive compared with those placed on others entered , in the same race. > The privileges in connection with the Taieri .Races, which are to be held at Mosgiei on the 17th inst., were sold by auction on Saturday by Mr John Stephenson. They reached a total of £88, made up as follows:— Gates, £45, Mr Williams ; grand stand, £9, Mr O'Kane ; saddling paddock, £3, Mr Crossley; race cards, £5, Mr Doyle ; one booth, £26, Mr O'Kane. The right to sell fruit and the privilege of the luncheon room were sold to Mr Charles Armstrong for £7.
