Hearty cheers were given by the assembled crowd for the winning crew. The Wellington Rowing Clnb's rowing has been vniversally admired, and the general impression is that they well deserve all they have won. The last race of any interest was the Scullers' •Race, three miles, Lls, and apparently the 'Meteor and Smile went in to give Woods, in the Moa, a chance of taking off the money, for neither had the slightest show of beating him. The Smiler pulled beautiful, but being in low condition, and weak, he could not keep up the pace for the distance, consequently Woods won as he liked, pulling easily the whole distance, as had been predicted from the outset. The Wellington Rowing Club win, with only one ■crew— Woods, Hearn, Walker, and M'Grath— L23sin cash,, and a beautiful silver cup, presented by Mr Cross. The day was remarkably fine, ana very warm in the afternoon. PROTEST. ' A protest has been entered against the Eclipse for the junior race yesterday, on the ground that she had two champion pullers on her. 'The yacht Secret has also protested, on the ground that she was not able to complete the race because there was not sufficient water in the course laid dtwn by the committee.
