ANOTHER TOURNAMENT.

Witli a view to encourage the cultivation of the Scotch Gambit among the junior members of the Chess Club, Mr Nixon, tlio winner o£ the first prize in the late Handicap Tournament, has handed to the Treasurer of the Dunedin Chess Club the amount ' of his prize to be divided between the two best players of the Scotch Gambit opening. First and second class playera being excluded from the competition, an oppor* tunity is afforded for some of the weaker players to distinguish themselves, and no doubt many of them will enter themselves as competitors. The three first moves in the Gambit are to be made by both players. The entries will close to-day (Saturday.)
