SELECTORS' WOOL.

The following facts relative to the comparative advantage of selling small parcels in Melbourne or London may be interesting just now to many of our readers. Last year a selector sent to London 5 bales, the net weight of which was 162 lbs. The 1057 lbs. of greasy realised in London Is 1H ; 344 lbs of mixed, lHd ; and 220 of scoured locks. Is 4id per*lb. The wool was shipped in November, when greasy was selling in Melbourne at the average price of 10£ d, and was sold in London in May, when th» market was unusually good. The amount realised was £91 6s 4d. The total charges on the 5 bales transmitted to London was £10 3s 7d ; had they been sold in Melbourne these would have been £7 4s od. On a comparison of pries rulmg in Melbourne and in London in May, with these charges, it appears that the experimenter made a gain of about 2 per cent. , occasioned by the wool arriving in London t»v tho May sa'es, which were exceptionally good as compared with the first series in February. — Deniliqnin Chronicle.
