PASTORAL NEWS.

The pastoral intelligence is of an unusually favourable character for the time of the year. Cattle and sheep have corae through the winter in nv«st places in good health, and condition. The rivers are tolerably full of water, and most of the clip will be got away by steamer. The pastoral and agricultural exhibitions in connection with the Northern Association and the Bnrrangong Association have been held during the month. The former was a most successful exhibition in every way, being visited by some 9000 persons. The ordinary population of Singleton, where it was held, being about 1500, some idea may be formed of the interest taken in the show ; and the exhibition of stock and produce is said to have been the finest seen in the colony out of the metropolis. The effect of these shows in improving the stock of the colony was favourably commented on by the stockowners at the banquet after the show. — Sydney Herald.
