THE AUSTRALASIAN TURF REGISTER.

The tenth volumne of this very useful publication has at length been issued by Messrs. Still well and Knight, and its appearance will be hailed with much satisfaction by all interested in turf matters. It ia becoming more bulky every year. The present number contains the reports of no fewer than 104 meetings, which extend to nearly 190 pages. There are over 50 pages of" entries for coming events!," and the tabulated records of the winners of the principal races in Great Britain and the Colonies occupy 10 more. The latter are particularly useful for reference. The rules of the Victoria Racing Club are given in full, also those of the Victorian Tatteraall's. A list of registered colours will be found ; also the tables of weight for ages of the V.R.C. and A.J.C. We have not checked any of the race reports to teat their accuracy, on which, of course, the value of such a work as the Register mainly depends. But as the compilation ia entrusted to most competent hands, we have the fullest reliance that the present volume is worthy of the confidence and patronage of all racing men, who, we think, are much indebted to the proprietors of this journal for their enterprise in publishing the Register, which, we may add, is got up in Messrs. Stillvvell and Knight's best style.— Australasian.
