" Aw, them courtm 1 times ! Well, it's no use tryin* To tell wlmt they were, and time is flyiu*. But you know how it is — the lather pretendin' lie never sees nothin' and the mother niendin' Or (i grippin' the Bible and spellin' a tex, And a eyoin' us now and then over her specs. And JBctsy and me sittiu' back in the cluinlcy, And her a clickin' her needles so nimbly, And me lookin' straight in ould Anthony's face, And a stealiu' my arm round Betsy's wnis'. Aw, the shy she was ! But. when Anthony said, 'Now, childher. it's time to be gom' to bed,' Then Botwy would say, as we all of us riz, ' 1 wonder what sort of a night it is ?' Or—' Never mind, father, IHI shut the door,' And shut it she did, you may be sure ; Only the way she done it, d'ye see? I was outside, and so was she l"
