CAVERSHAM ELECTION.
THE XOMIXATIOX.
The nomination of candidates for the representation of Caversham in the General Assembly took place on Wednesday, the Substitute Returning Officer, Mr W. P. Street, officiating. The following gentlemen were nominated : — Mr James Crowe Eichmond, proposed by Mr John Graham, and seconded by Mr P. Dundon ; Mr W. A. Tolmie, proposed by Mr J. S. Douglas, and seconded by Mr Robert Rutherford ; Mr W. H. Cutten, yjroposed by Mr Thomas Grainger, seconded by Mr W. Lawrie. Mr J. W. Feger was proposed, but declined to stand. After Messrs Tolmie and Cutten had addressed the meeting, a show of hands was taken, with the following result : — Richmond, 3 ; Cutten, S ; Tolmie, 11. Mr Cutten demanded a poll- to take place on Wednesday.
