The Dean of Chbistohuroh moved— " That the Synod do go into Committed to consider the alterations required to be made in the Instructions to Trustees, and in the having reference to Trusts, in consequence of the adoption of the Resolutions of the Synod during the present session." In proposing the motion, he said it would be obvious to any* one who had glanced at the Standing Instructions to Trustees, and compared them with the resolutions with referenoe to trusts adopted during the present session, that the instructions should be considerably modified and altered. The motion was carried. The Synod having resolved itself into Committee, several alterations in the instructions were made. THE INSURANCE" FUNDS. Mr Young moved " That the President be requested to take the necessary steps for giving effect to the Resolutions of the General Synod for the immediate winding up of the 'Life Assurance' in connection with the Clerical Pension Fund, and also to invite the earnest co-operation of the various Dioceses in support of the plan proposed with a view to the ultimate establishment of a Pension Endowment Fund, for the benefit of all the clergy in New Zealand." Clergy of the New Zealand Church, in conducting public service, to adopt any alteration in the Book of Common Prayer or of the Lectionary, though such alterations may have been adopted by the Mother Church, until such alteration shall have been sanctioned by the General Synod, or as clause 21 of the Constitution provides, until they hive obtained the assent of the Diocesan Synod. It waß moved by the Bishop of Waiapu, and carried by acclamation — " That this Synod cannot separate without expressing its cordial thanks to the members of the Church in Dunedin and its neighbourhood for the kindness with which they have received those of its members who have come from other parts of New Zealand, and for the hearty hospitality they have extended to them." It was resolved that the thanks of the Synod be given to the Secretaries for their labours. A vote of thanks was also passed to the proprietors and reporters of the local newspapers, THE 2HOROGATION. $here being no other business to be brought before the Synod, The Primate congratulated the members upon their having dealt bo satisfactorily with the various matters which had been brought before them, thanking them —and Sir William Martin in particular — for the attention which they had given to business. The various measures intro' duced would, he trusted, be for the benefit and advancement of the Church. Though there had been much freedom of speech among them, yet everything had been conducted in a sober Christian manner, with courtesy to each other, and he thought he could say, without presumption, in a spirit of love and of sound mind.

The Primate having recited the " Gloria in Excelsis," in which he was joined by the members, and having pronounced the Benediction, the proceedings ended,
