A letter was read from Mr Parker, stating that Messrs. -Douglas, M'lean, and Anderson had not taken any Bteps to sign their leases, or pay rents and fees ; and it was resolved that the leases should be forfeited if not signed within twelve months. G. M'Kay'B letter in reference to sale of section 2, Block Vl, Roxburgh, wauread; also, Mr Fache's explanation. Resolved, that the letter and Mr Livingston's statement with reference thereto, be forwarded to the Go. vercment, with the view of obt lining the Provincial Solicitor's opinion as to the validity of the sale of Seotion 2, Block VI, and Seotion 5, Block 111, Roxburgh.

Matthew Thomas's application for protec tion to prospect for- copper in Goodwood Bush, and for a title to land in the event; of striking payable ground, was granted for a term of three years ; should the result turn out satisfactorily, the applicant to be dealt with as liberally as possible under clause 52 of the Waste Lands Act.

E. T. George'o letter, referring to sale of Noseby township, was read. Resolved that the receipt of the same be acknowledged, tho subject- having been several times under consideration by the Board.

The plan of Messrs Pearce and Washer, for a coal lease, and another of Block I , Ureenvale, were approved of, the latter to be notified to the Government.

James Morrison, Treasurer of the Flagstaff Road Board, applied for five acres in section 24, Block V., Dunedin and East Taieri, as compensation to Mr Robs for road through adjoining seotion. Granted under clauso 39 of the Waste Lands Act.

James Pollock applied for 109 acres, back part of sections 19 and 20, Block 1., Tuturau, for a flour-mill. Deferred for further information.

B. de Carle appliedon behalf of E. T. George, to purchase sections 13 and 14, Block L, Naeeby. Resolved that surveyor be instructed to survey sections 63, 64, 65, and 63 to 74, to be in accordance with the descriptions of Crown grants ; at the same time, to leave the present buildings, excepting only where they impinge on Brown street survey. With rtapeot to sections 7 to 14, that the Warden be requested to report as to tho effect on the mining operations and interests were they sold, especially in the silting.

Mr Doughty applied on behalf of Jamea Hopkias, to purchase section 62, block 111., Tuapeka east, hold under agricultural lease. Granted, to be paid within one mouth. Richard Burrow's application to lease reserve, Greytown. Declined. Pagot and Milne's application for* lease of a lignite area, Alexandra, was granted on the usual terms. Rent, LlO par annum ; 14 years' term from lat September, 1869. A plan of block XV., Glenkenicb, was approved of ; tho Banie to be notified to the Go. vernment. Application to lease run 436, was referred to tho Government. Mr Street app ied for oertain petitioners jbo protest against the sale of water reservo, block 11. , Awamoko ; and it was resolved that the laud be withdrawn from sale. John Duncan applied to leaao seotion 11 block IX., Akatore. to grow flax. Resolved that a seven years' liconao be granted at L 7 10a por annum.
