Christchurch, July 9th.
Quartz reefs are reported to have been discovered in Banl-s Peninsula, and fair specimens have been brought to town. Mr Justice Gresson, Mr C. O. Bowen, R.M., Mr De Bourbel, and Mr Reynel, purchased 120 acres of waste land after the discovery was made known by them. A large and influential meeting was held today, at whioh it was resolved that a company should be formed to prospect the country, the shares to be L 5 each, LI to be paid down. Great excitement prevails here, but I advise no one to leave your province till more satisfactory information is sent.
