AT a Public Meeting held in Dunedin, on the 3rd insU, the following resolutions were passed :— 1. That it is desirable to form a Society in Otago, to be incorporated with the Now Zealand Institute. 2. That the following gentlemen be a Provisional Committee to take charge of the formation of the Society (with power to add to their number) : — Mr Justice Ward Rev. D. M. Stuart Mr J . S. That tho subscription to the Society be one guinoa per annnm ; and that all gentlemen sending in their names, with the amount of their subscriptions, to the Provisional Committee before Angust Ist, bo doomed original member* of ths Society.
