WASTE LANDS BOARD.

The usual weekly meeting of the Waste Lands Board tookplace on the 23rd ult. at noon. The Cliief Commissioner was in the chair, and present were Messrs Reid and Duncan.

On an application from the Queenstown Town Council, referring certain resolutions of that Council as to the Burvey of unsold lands in Queenstown, and the Bale of the same, to the Board for consideration, it was resolved that the township be surveyed into quarter acre allotments as soon as possible.

On a resolution of the same Council, as to granting bush leases on the One-Mile and Three-Mile Creeks, it was decided to refer the question to the Secretary of Lands and Works to be dealt with.

The valuation of the improvements at Wetherstones was approved of, and it was deoided that the land should be withdrawn from Bale, and ro- advertised for sale at Lawrence on Friday, the 30th July, Mr Nicholson to be the auotioneer.

Mr C. J. Moore's application to be allowed to prospect for coal, for three months, on Sections 65 and 66, Block VIII, Papakaio, was not dealt with, there being no appearance of, or for, tho applicant.

Mr Murray's assessment of the following new runs applied for, but not taken up, was approved of— Runs Nos, 421, 424, 425, 426, 427, 428, 429, 430, 432, and 433. It was decided that, as objootions had been taken to the applicants for Nos. 426 and 427, on the ground that tho objectors had previously appliod for the same runs, and that as, in fact, tho whole of tho country taken up by these runs had been appliod for before, the Board | refused to grant the whole of tho applications, and that all the blocks should bo put up to auotion, on Wednesday, 28th July, at an upset price of £ , subject to the assessments as made, and to othor usual regulations of tho Land Office. Blook No. 425vt0 be divided into two by the orowning ridge. Tho auotion to tako place in the Land Office. The Survey map of block VIII, Waitahuna East, was approved of, The land to bo declared open for application. This concluded tho bualnoM.
