Rknnie & Macgregok, Millers and Produce Merchants, Jetty street, report :—: — For breadstuffs r the demand is without animation ; and although, as a rule, prices cannot be quoted lower, yet to effect Bales of importance, we believe holders would give way to some extent. There are parcels of wheat offering on easy terms, yet buyers cannot see their way clear to enter into large transactions, in the face of the glowing reports of the crops from the Continent of Europe and America, and sales are limited to hand-to-mouth requirements. Oats, with the exception of choice samples for seed and milling purposes, are neglected. Barley for malting is still in demand. Potatoes are at present unsaleable, except for immediate requirements ; and although there has been no arrivals of any importance, dealers seem shy of enlarging their stocks, The following are the prices current :—: — Wheat. — Milling, 6s to 7s 3d per bushel. Oats. — 2s 3d to 2s 6d per bushel. Barley. — Fine malting, 4s to 4s 6d per bushel. i Beans — 4s 6d per bushel I Beanmeal— £9 10s per ton. Maize. — 4s 3d per bushel. Pollard — £7 per ton, scarce.
