YOUNG MEN'S CHRISTIAN ASSOCIATION.
A Meeting of this Association was held in Dr. Burns' Church, on Friday, the 22nd in3t., to receive the report of the Committee appointed at the previous meeting. C 11. IvETTr-. 1:, l'>cj, occupied the Chair, and after some discussion the rules recommended by the Committee were agreed to ar. follows .—. — 1. This Association shall be called t'.ie Duneilin Youns: Men's Christian Association. 2. The object of this Association shr.ll be to promote vital godliness amongst its members, to foster a spirit of un; on ami charity between Christian young men of every denomination, ami by all means to :-cek their advancement in useful and elevating knowledge, and also to aid with friendly counsel and in other ways, young men arriTing in the Province. 3. That the principal means to betaken for this end, shall be meetings to be held for the reading of Essays. Public Lectures, Bible Classes, Prayer Meetings-, the establishment of a sot of rooms embracing Library, Reading, and Coffee Rooms, and <rener.ally any other moans which may from time to time appear most advantageous and desirable. 4. This Association shall be composed of persons of good moral character, who hold the doctrine.s (renerally believed by Evangelical Churches, and after tlu fir.'t meeting candidates for membership must be nominated at least a week previous to their admission, and shall be admitted by ballot, two-thirds of those voting being favorable. 5. The burners of the Association bhnll be conducted by a President, two Vicc-I're.Ridcnts, Treasurer, Secretary, and a. Committee of seven, five to form a quorum, v.-ho shall be elected at the Annual Meeting, on the day of ,in each year. 6. A Special Meeting of the Association shall be held quarterly, and any notices to be brought forward shall be intimated a fortnight previously. 7. The Office Beavers and Committee shall have power to make any regulations necessary for the management of the Association, subject to revision at the quarterly meeting. 8. Each Member shall ]\ay in advance an Annual Subscription of £1 Is, to be devoted to the advancement of the interests of the Association. 9. All Meetings shall be opened and closed with devotional exercises. The following gentlemen were elected Office Bearers: — President—C. 11. Kettle, Esq. Vice-Presidents—T. Dick, and C. Street, Esqr.s. Treasurer—J. 11. Barr, Esq. Secretary—ll. Gillies, Esq. Committee—Messrs. lluttan, Douglas, Neal, Hislop, Be<rg. Matthews, and Fry.
