Amended Notice. ■VTOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that I, Otago, by virtue of the powers in me vesteT ~ by the v Jetties and Wharves Ordinance, 1848," do hereby, with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, give notice that on and after the FIRST DAY OF NOVEMBER 18G1, the following and no other Tolls, Dues' and Wharfages shall be levied for the use of the Dunedin Jetty, viz.: — l# On Sawn Timber— 2d, per 100 feet On Shingles — 2d. per 1000 On Firewood — 6d. per cord On all other goods— is. 3d. per ton. All Jetty Dues shall be paid by the master or " person in charge ot each ship, vessel or boat hZ fore loading or unloading cargo as the caseroay ' be. All dues payable upon goods other thnn " saw.i timber and shingles, shall be chareed upon the vessel carrying the same, at the rate of Is. 3d. per ton upon her registered tonnage • provided always that in the event of any vessel not having cargo*amountlng to one-half of her registered tonnage, such dues may be charged, at the discretion of the Jetty Keeper, upon the actual quantity of goods she may have on board at the time of her arrival at the Jetty, or before her departure in the case of loading. Vessels under 40 tons register shall be allowed four, and vessels above that tonnage shall be allowed six working-days to load or unload at the - Jetty, as the case may be, free of charge ; but any vessel remaining at the Jetty longer than the days allowed, shall be charged 10s. per clay for each day or part of a day so remaining. Goods left on the Jetty or its approaches for more than 24 hours, shall be charged, in additon to the rates before mentioned, at the rate of Is. per ton per diem, for tvery working day or part of a day they may be so left. Sawn timber, fii*ewood, or shingles, landed on the Timber Stage, and not removed within one week, shall, in addition to the rates before mentioned, be subject to a charge of 3d. per 100 superficial feet timber, 2d. per 1000 shingles, 6d. per cord of iirewooJ, tor every day beyond such weeck they shall do remain. JETTY SHED. Goods shall be charged in advance at the rate of 6d. per ton per day for each working day or part of v day the same may be in the Shed. The offices in the Shed shall be let by the calendar month, and the rent paid in advance. GENERAL. Any person refusing or delaying to pay, or attempting in any way to evade the payment of any ot the above Tolls, Dues, and Wharfages, shall be charged double the said rates. J.
