BAY OF PLENTY MEETING. TO-MORROWS CARD REVIEWED. (By. L.M.M.) The Bay of Plenty Racing Club opens its autumn meeting to-morrow the second and concluding day being Monday. Prospects are: — 11.45 Trial Plate (51 furlongs).— Star Yaal, Ganios, Little Idea. 12.30 — Jack Tanner Memorial (54 furlongs).—Brazen Bold, Pantheist, Hunto. 1.15 Gate Pa Hurdles (14 miles). — Airam, Kilbcris, tStansted. 2.o—Tauianga Cup (1( miles). — Ivenu, To llai, Scotland. 2.45 Alf Brown Memorial ((> furlongs).—Kakarere, Son of the Soil, -Midland. 3.30 Greerton llighweiglit (1 mile). —Royal Abb, Electric Spear, Haile Boy. 4.15 President's Hack Handicap (7 furlongs).— Kenneth Robert, Npearford, Eastern Heir. 5.0 —Flying Handicap (ti furlongs).— Orate, Tosh, Llangollen. WAIRARAPA CLUE. The Wuirarnpa Racing Club will hold its Easter meeting bn April S(h and lotli, and judging by the interest already being displayed there should be a record crowd. The meeting is very popular with residents of this coast and hundreds are likely to make the trip. The picturesque course, with its line appointments, is always an attraction and anyone who has not yet made the journey, a comparatively short one, should do so. Not only will they enjoy the racing but they will be able to admire the beautiful picnic grounds, with the enormous tot urn trees —among the hugest in New Zealand, and heavily insured —but enjoy the racing which is always interesting. The club is indeed fortunate in having such u capai.de and popular secretary in Mr. N. C. C. Shepherd, while the stewards are nlwnvs most attentive to visitors. The big runs—Easter Handicap—is worth £son. and on the second day £3oo. Several of the other events are worth £2OO, while there is nothing less than £lsn in any one event. The members of the Otaki Maoii Racing Club have done some splendid work on the course during the past few weeks and the filial touches were given |on Thursday. The dub is to be commende on the way it has entered for ownerand trainers, as well as the public gen orally. The sand track has receive: special treatment.
