The monthly meeting of the local branch of the Worker-' Union on Wednesdav, which union, it should he understood, is instituted to protect the interests of all workers and is intended to he of a non-partisan nature, was held. Free discussions were held pertaining to matters affecting members of the union. It was decided to canvass for additional members who may desire to interest themselves in this beneficial movement, which is in reality a pure],local welfare institution intended to benefit both pakeha and Maori. .Several new members were welcomed. Messrs C. Adamson and Fred Barrett were elected to the executive body in order to replace Messrs AY. Bryan and T. Hohipuha who have been round wor.-c away from Otarii.
