BOWLING.
Mr. Frank Southgate, secretary to the recent E.S.A. bowling tournament, has received letters from various parts congratulating him on the success ox his undertaking. The latest comes from Maryborough, the winning rink speaking iii glowing terms of the hospitality accorded the players, and stating they were looking forward to the next fixture, and if at Otaki, would be strong lv represented. They stated iket were thrilled at winning the trophy. Members of the Wellington City Milk Department paid a visit to the Otaki green on Wednesday afternoon and indulged in enjoyable games. Mr. L. G. Lowry, M.P., in extending a welcome. stated that he hoped all would spend a pleasant day and carry away pleasant recollections of the day's outing. It was hoped that enjoyable games would result. Mr. Lowry apologised for the absence of Mr. Beauchamp who, he regretted to say, was not enjoying tr.e best of health. Mr. McKenzie, on behalf _ox tho visitors, thanked Mr. Lowry for his kind remarks and stated that, no doubt, all would enjoy themselves, despite the fact that some were new at the game. Several interesting games were plaved, all being won by Otaki, while afternoon tea added to the-days enjoyment. _
