LEVIN METHODISM.

MEETING OP QUARTERLY BOARD. There was a good attendance of the members of the Quarterly Board of the Levin Methodist Church, on Wednesday evening, when the Rev. W. G. Slade, M.A., presided, the meeting opening with a hymn, and prayer. A hearty welcome was extended to Messrs E. Bott and K. Bowater, new members of the Board, by the Chairman.

Mr H. N. Holdaway waa re-appoint-ed second steward for the year.

Sympathy was expressed to Mrs Holdaway in the sudden death at Easter of her nephew, the members of the Board standing for a moment’s silence. It was reported by Mr Slade that satisfactory progress had been made daring the quarter, and that the number of members on the roll was 140.

The balance abeet was read by Mr P. H. Hudson, senior steward, and adopted. It was decided tp celebrate Foreign Mission Festival on Sunday, May 6th, when the Rev. A H. Serivin would be the deputation to Levin on that date and occupy pulpit at both services. Satisfactory report* were received from the Young 'People’s Department, the Sunday School and Bible Classes, by Messrs T. W. Trcen, ,W. Plaster and K. Bowater respectively.

It was decided to hold a week’s special mission, commencing on May 20th, and a committee comprising Messrs Hudson, Holdaway, L. King, J. Aetridge and P. W. Goldsmith, with the Rev. Slade, was set up to make the necessary arrangements. Other routine business was discussed, after which Messrs Hudson and H. Walker gave their impression* of Conference, the meeting closing with a hymn, prayer and the Benediction. •
