"" f MEETING OF DELEGATES:

A meeting of delegates of the Horowhenua Hockey Association was held on Friday night. Present:j Messrs Parker (chairman), : Hume, JNieolson, Kilniistcr (secretary)- anil Miss Shaw. Correspondence was read frornStue Huia Club asking for a" match at 'Otaki on the 13th. (two teams).—lt wap decided that the Northern end play the first match at 2 p.m., and the Southern play: ers at 3.15 p.m., expenses of entertainment to be borne by Clubs. Mr. Hume ■will select the North team and Mr. Parker the South team.

Fixtures for September 3rd will be: To Horo v. Paraparaumu, at Paraparaiiinu; Otaki v. Manakau at'Otaki; RaukaWa v. Levin, at Levin.

A challenge was' receiyo'd from the Hutt Club and it was'agreed to play this match as soon as possible. On account of illness a player, who was recently stood on tho side-lino, was unable to attend to make an explanation. .."■"

Tournament "at Invercargill. NE2&SM '. Saturday's Eesults. A. Section. Mimawhonua (2) beat South Canterbury (1). Eastern Southland A (4) beat WaiTarapa (3). Maiiawhenua" and South Canterbury, played a very evenly-contested match: in which each team gave a good account of itself. There was little if anything to choose between the relative merits of the two elevens. With the ."core one all, play in the last, ten minutes became very exciting and it was practically just on time that B. Hakaraia shot the winning goal for Manawhenua. The defence of the teams was, of high standard and the goal-keepers on occasions saved cleverly. - A telegram from Mr. Amos (manager) states that "Miss Hakaraia "played a wonderful game." Te Horo v. 'Varsity. This match will bo "played on Saturday at Otaki and as both sides are strong and in good form a fine game should result. The-bully-off will be at 3 p.m. and all enthusiasts should be 'present. , . : .•_ Otaki Team.
