OTAUTAU CYCLING CLUB.

The second cycle road race took place in fine weather on Saturday evening, the trip being to Fairfax and back, a distance of 11J miles. There were again eight starters^ the iejxtra v four competitors entered scratching their nomination for various reasons. . The "entry . included a number of new members, while ;D. Chilton, of the Drummond Club, also took part* Dr Reekie acted as handicapper and managed to bring the competitors together fairly- well, A. Bone winning by about 150 yards, with W. Challenger in second plac^, a simila'r distance in front of C. Hill, who just beat A. Browning and S. Cowan. . Th© Judging was done by Messrs H. A. Bone, J. Pulley and W. J. Wesney, who also acted as timekeepers. The prizes were donated fry Klessw* Geo. Stearne and M. Mclvor, Jnr., while the fastest time trophy presented by the Club was won by Alex. It was also resolved to arrange for in Evening Sports Meeting on the Recreation Ground o n Wednesday, 53rd November. The programme to nclude a half-mile, one mile and two - nile cycle races, Boys' and Ladies' 3ycl e Races, 100 yards and 220 yards, Ladies' Relay Race and Wheelbarrow *ace. - J
