WELCOME HOME.
Last Tuesday evening a Welcome Home was given, to Mr and Mrs J. Paterson, at their residence m KinS Street, Otautau. Dancing and games were enjoyed, the music for the former bein^ supplied by Messrs G. Stewart and j. Mills. _ Songs were rendered by Messrs Hume (Riverton), Fraser, Horrie, Currie, V. Hope and A. Coulter ; and Mr R. Henderson gave two of his fine recitations. t Mr B. Norman acted as M.O. After supper, Mr G. Fraser, on behalf of those present, thanked Mr and Mrs J. Paterson for the very enjoyable evening 1 and was sure that everyone had had a good time. Mr Paterson was well known all over Otautau for his ■ hospitality" .and generosity and he had that evening proved well equal, to the demands ot the occasion. In responding-, Mr J. Paterson said that he was glad everyone had had an enjoyable time. He concluded by sa> ing that whea Mrs Paterson and mm self had managed to get settled' down m their new home, he would like io see everyone back again. The singing of "For He's a Jolly Good Fellow" and "Auld J.ang Syne" concluded a very pleasant evening. Those present were: Mr and Mrs j. Paterson, Hume (Riverton) and Cessford (Riverton); Mrs McKay; Misses Hume and Burns (Riverton) and Miss Gordon (Otautau)-; Messrs Hope (2), Fraser, Stewart, -T. Muir, Norman, Home, Campbell, Currie, Smith, Chilton (2), R. Paterson, Kearns, Coulter, Henderson, G. McAdapn, Hibbs, Davis, von Tunzelman, Leith and Mills.
