' Many were received too, from Invereargill, Winton and practically all our neighbouring towns. Nominations, too, ' were the second highest" since 1923, the record being m 1924, with £75. At that period, however, athletics were receiving a boom, as records of all Sports bodies show. Especially does your Committee desire to see more local runners taking up the sport seriously, with a view to stimulating more interest locally, and we hope^ for their own benefit. ; Special thanks are duo to Messrs' G.
