been donated for competition amongst the members of the Cflub. These were presented by Mr A. C. Mills to the holders of the Western District Doubles Championship (Messrs Moore and Buchanan). A challenge for possession of these trophies was received fioin Messrs- Lumsden and Renowden, and the match was played on Wednesday, 13th October. After a keen contest the holders succeeded m retaining them, the score being 22 19..

Last Friday Messrs Porteous and Hall issued a challenge, and after a very keen game were defeated by two points, the score registering 21-19.

Messrs Sinclair and Griffiths were equally unfortunate, the score being 35 14. .

Messrs Buchanan (President) and Moore (Secretary) werepiesent at the official opening of the Aparima green yesterday.
