MRS ALICE GAINES.

An r old resident of Otautau, m the person of Mrs Alice Games, widow of the late Mark Games, passed away on

Sunday at the home of her daughter, < Mrs H. Witsey, Riverton. The late *.Mrs Games, who had reached the ripe age of 78, settled m Otautau with her husband m 1878, 4g years ago There was scarcely anything then to

give the place a claim to being considereji a township. On the death of her hu?band, Mrs Games went to live with her son, iMatthew, at Wairio,

aod m recent years has divided her time at the homes /5i various members of ber family. -Bhe was of a happy disposition, and will be greatly missed by her sons and daughters and old residents of this district.
