Aparima Methodist Church.

The annual sooial m connection with the Aparima Methodist Church took place last Wednesday evening. In spite of the rouglv night, a very good audience was piesent. Mcst of the program me was given by a party from Nightcaps. The li-v. T. Coatsworth presided, and m a brief speech spoke of tho encouraging signs m the work of tho churoh at Aparima. Tho following programme was then rendered, every item being splendidly received, encores being numerous : Instrumental duet (organ and violin), Mrs Capitaneas and Miss Paterson ; solo, Mr Peter Grant ; quartette, Mrs Capitaneas, Miss Paterson and Messrs P. and J. Grant ; duet Misses Ruth and Winnie Grey ; violin solo, Miss Paterson ; recitation, Miss Myra Jamea ; solo, Mr James Grant ; solo, Miss Ruth Grey ; address (subject, '* Optimism") Rev. 0. J. Peoples ; solo, Miss Winnie Grey ; quar- | tette, Mrs Capitaneas, Miss Paterson and Messrs P. and J. Crant ; violin sol***, Miss Paterson ; duet, Mrs Capitaneas and Miss Paterson. Refreshments were then handed round. On jthe motion of Mr K. Clent, seconded by Mr R. S. James, a hearty vote of thanks to the Nightcaps and local friends for their splendid programme, and to the ladies of the congregation who had supplied the bountiful provisions, was carried with acclamation. Mrs Capitaneas, Mi«*s Ruth Grey and Miss James acted as accompanists. The singing of the National Anthem and tho Benediction brought a very succeisful evening to a close.
